Compliance overview

getto takes legal and regulatory responsibility seriously. This page summarises how our self-custody model fits within the wider regulatory landscape and what that means for you. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

As a non-custodial wallet, getto never takes possession of customer funds. We are a technology provider, not a financial intermediary, custodian, or exchange.

Our non-custodial model

The defining feature of getto is that keys and funds remain under your sole control:

  • Keys are generated and stored on your device's secure element.
  • getto cannot move, freeze, or recover your assets.
  • Swaps and transfers execute on public blockchains and third-party protocols, not on any getto-operated venue.

Because we do not custody assets or operate an exchange, many obligations that apply to custodial intermediaries are structurally different for us. We continue to monitor how laws apply to wallet software and adapt accordingly.

Anti-money laundering & sanctions

We do not condone or facilitate money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion. Where legal obligations apply to us, we maintain policies designed to meet them, and we cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities. We may restrict access from jurisdictions subject to comprehensive sanctions or where providing the Services would be unlawful.

Your compliance responsibilities

Self-custody puts you in control, which also means you carry compliance responsibilities, including:

  • Ensuring your use of crypto and DeFi is legal where you live.
  • Reporting and paying any taxes due on your activity.
  • Not using the Services for unlawful purposes.

Marketing & advertising standards

We aim to communicate honestly. Our marketing does not promise profits, guaranteed returns, or risk-free outcomes, and we present digital-asset risks clearly. We describe getto as a security and self-custody product — not an investment scheme — and we avoid misleading or exaggerated claims in line with major advertising platform policies and consumer-protection principles.

Security & transparency

Our firmware and supporting software are open to independent review so that security claims can be verified rather than simply trusted. We encourage responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities and work to address verified issues promptly.
