getto is a self-custody hardware wallet: a small physical device that generates and stores your private keys offline on a secure chip. Paired with the companion app, it lets you receive, hold, and swap crypto and connect to DeFi protocols — all while signing transactions on the device itself. getto is not a bank, exchange, or custodian and never holds your funds.
Self-custody means you alone control the private keys that move your funds. There is no account that getto can freeze, no password reset that recovers your wallet, and no support team that can move your assets. The trade-off for that freedom is responsibility: if you lose your device and your recovery phrase, no one can restore your funds.
Through the companion app you can connect to major decentralized protocols such as Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Curve, SushiSwap, 1inch, and Aave, across networks like Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Polygon. getto is the signer — the protocols are independent third parties with their own smart contracts and terms. Supported protocols can change over time.
You open a supported protocol in the app, choose the assets and amount, and the app builds the transaction. The unsigned transaction is sent to your device, where you review the exact details on the screen and approve them with a physical button press. Only the signed transaction leaves the device — your keys never do. The swap then executes on the protocol's smart contract.
No. getto does not operate an exchange, quote prices, or act as a counterparty. Prices and execution are determined entirely by the third-party decentralized protocol you choose and the state of the blockchain. Network fees (gas) and any protocol fees are charged by those networks and protocols, not by getto.
Your funds live on the blockchain, not on the device. If your getto is lost, stolen, or damaged, you restore access on a new compatible device using your 24-word recovery phrase. This is why keeping that phrase safe and offline is the single most important thing you can do.
No. Your keys are generated on the device and never transmitted to us. We have no technical way to see your recovery phrase, access your wallet, or move your assets. Any message claiming to be getto and asking for your phrase or password is a scam — we will never ask for it.
The security model assumes your computer or phone could be compromised. Because keys stay on the secure element and every transaction is verified on the device's own screen, malware on your computer cannot extract your keys or silently alter a transaction you've approved — as long as you check the details shown on the device before confirming.
The wallet itself is non-custodial and works with your device and recovery phrase. A getto account is an optional convenience layer for managing your device, saving public addresses, and accessing support. Creating an account never gives us custody of your keys or funds.
